Nikki Giovanni collected the poems in 2023 for this limited edition designed by Denise Brady who hand set the text in Garamond and Studio types. Jim Cox assisted in printing the text in two colors on a Vandercook No. 4. Patty Talbert cut three linoleum plates for the title page image which Denise printed on her handmade cotton rag paper. The printer also sewed the signatures, and with the assistance of Emily Anderson, made the cover paper from cotton and jute halfstuff.
The text is printed on Parchtone from French Paper Co., the pale blue endsheet is Thai Unryu, and the cover tabs are Cave Paper. The 60-point sorts used on the title page were salvaged years ago from Omaha’s KMTV.
